At Paper Planes Pediatrics, we promise to show up every day committed to our work, our patients, and the families who trust us. Our team strives to listen carefully, advocate for every child, and provide exceptional care to the South Florida community.
Our team believes the exam room is a special place—a space where families feel heard, children feel safe, and our focus is fully on the people in front of us. Every question matters, every concern deserves attention, and every child is seen and heard.
The foundation of our practice is built on the qualities we believe define exceptional healthcare: attentiveness, compassion, and knowledge. Our Ownership Story
Our practice was founded in 1972 by Dr. Taslimi. In 1983, Dr. Mirza joined the practice. Together they created Taslimi and Mirza MD PA, a partnership that lasted nearly 40 years.
Dr. Martinez-Angel joined the team in 2009 and has continued the tradition of providing exceptional pediatric care to our families.
In 2026, Dr. Biggie purchased the practice from Dr. Mirza, fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning a pediatric practice. With deep respect for the foundation built before her, Dr. Biggie created Paper Planes Pediatrics — carrying forward more than 50 years of trusted care while beginning an exciting new chapter.

Free Prenatal Consultation
We are excited to offer complimentary prenatal visits to expecting families. During the prenatal visit, we discuss hospital expectations, procedures after the baby arrives, vaccine and well visit schedules.
We are delighted to answer any questions you may have to help your transition to parenthood.

Newborn Care
We feel privileged to welcome your newborn into our practice. Our healthcare team loves to provide newborn care. During this special time, we answer any questions you may have. We discuss feeding, height, weight, head circumference and overall wellbeing for both babies and new parents. The newborn period is special and delicate.
Our professionals are trained to ensure your baby is optimally healthy, evaluate conditions unique to the newborn period.

Well Visit
Your child’s well visit schedule is of utmost importance to us at Paper Planes Pediatrics. We deeply believe in the exponential benefits of healthcare prevention and early intervention. At your child's well visit we evaluate your child's growth, development and take the opportunity to keep your child’s vaccines up to date.
Our highly skilled and experienced clinicians perform a full physical exam, age based bloodwork, recommend vaccines, apply a fluoride varnish and give anticipatory guidance. Physical forms (DH 3040 or “yellow forms”) and vaccine forms (DH 680 or “Blue form”) are provided during this visit. We are committed to your child's long, healthy, thriving future.

Sick Visits
During those unexpected times when your child isn't feeling well, Paper Planes Pediatrics offers prompt same day sick visits. Having a sick child is stressful, having a trusted professional to help is stress relieving, Our experienced providers offer help and solutions just at the time you need it.
Daycare and Back to school notes, dependent on the child's condition, are provided with every sick visit.

Vaccinations
At Paper Planes Pediatrics, we believe firmly is the importance of childhood vaccinations. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccine schedule to ensure optimal health for your children.
We are pleased to complete and certify your child's vaccination status report aka DH 680 or “Blue form” with every well child visit or upon request.

Back To School Physicals
This is an opportunity to evaluate your child's height, weight, emotional and developmental status. Once your child is three years old, they need a yearly physical examination. This allows your healthcare professionals to ensure your child is reaching his or her optimal health.
We discuss age specific challenges and guide you with decades of experience in childhood development. Our skilled clinicians take the time to update vaccinations and discuss any unique challenges you may have. Physical forms aka DH 3040 or “yellow forms” are provided during this visit.

Camp/Sports Physicals
Our expert medical team is trained to evaluate athletes and camp-goes. We understand the unique considerations for kids who travel or may be away from home for sports and camps. Sports physical and camp forms are filled out by our professionals on the day of the physical exam appointment. We prioritize your child's safety and well being for these activities.

EKG
We offer in-office EKG screenings. An EKG, or electrocardiogram, is a quick, painless test that measures the heart’s electrical activity. In Florida, student athletes are required to have a sports physical completed on the EL2 form before participating in high school sports.
Every EKG is interpreted by our providers using the International Criteria for Electrocardiographic Interpretation in Athletes—the current international standard developed specifically for athletic hearts. These guidelines help identify heart conditions that may increase the risk of sudden cardiac arrest while reducing unnecessary referrals for normal athletic heart changes.

ADHD
Our experienced professionals are trained to diagnose and treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) . We recognize the unique challenges children face who live with ADHD.
We provide a thorough evaluation with input from those closest to the child. We use a variety of treatment options to help children and families with ADHD. We work with parents and schools to ensure children with ADHD receive the best care and plan for a successful future.

Autism

Weight management and Nutrition counseling
Our providers love to tackle weight and nutrition concerns with you! A variety of factors may contribute to weight gain, which will be thoroughly evaluated during your visit. Contributing factors may include hormones, emotions, genetic and lifestyle factors. At times a comprehensive laboratory panel can be insightful.

We are dedicated to the optimal health of your child. Optimal health may include referrals to specialists. Our experienced staff helps coordinate care, work with your insurance company and other professionals to ensure your child gets the help they need. We provide referrals to other pediatric physicians, therapists, mental health experts, developmental clinics and so much more!
